The Photo-Barn Makeover: Zane & Company Star with New Setup

If you’re curious about what the shelter dogs have been up to lately, you’re in for a treat: I have two weekends worth of photo sessions to update you on.

The Photo-Barn Makeover

Last weekend, I managed to talk my husband into going to the shelter with me to put up the green screens properly. Equipped with PVC pipes and a few other essentials, like screws, tape, and coffee, we arrived at the shelter and made a few modifications to the photo barn. By we I mean my amazing husband did all the work while I took pictures of his progress, so I could show you all how he transformed the barn into what I am from now on referring to as The Green-Screen Adventures Studio (just kidding, or am I?).

Can we have a Husband Appreciation Day at the shelter, please? 🙂

Check out the photos below to see the new setup. The idea was to make it easy to put up and remove the green screens without having to take down the backdrops others may want to use.

After our redecoration project was complete, we had to do a test run, so we got a few canines to come to the photo barn and model in front of the green screens. Later, I changed the backgrounds with Adobe Photoshop and added a cloud filter for a bit of extra interest.

Zane & Company’s Star-Studded Photo Sessions*

Here are the photos from that first Saturday. Granger has been adopted already, but the others are still very much looking for their forever homes. Zane, I have to point out, is the first dog my husband picked to take photos of, and he wound up being his favorite. According to him, Zane was the easiest to take pictures of and he reminds him of our dog Tucker when he was a puppy. I am hoping that you will give Zane some extra shares on social media to help him find his perfect family, so he doesn’t have to grow up at the shelter.

Also, Champ’s picture doesn’t do him justice. This dog has quite the personality! You just have to meet him to believe it. When he sings, it may not be Canine Idol worthy, but he puts his soul into his howls, and it shows.

Fast forward to yesterday. Shelter volunteer Nancy and I recruited some of the newest shelter residents for our green-screen adventures. Some were shy, others were all smiles as they stepped into the photo barn and in front of the green backdrop, and all of them were adorable. Check out the photos below!

And don’t forget: All of these dogs are waiting at the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter and would love to get a visit from their forever families.

*Zane & Company is a reference to one of my favorite Disney movies: Oliver & Company from the 1980s.

    • That husband of mine sure is amazing! I’m lucky to have him! It was so much fun spending an afternoon together at the shelter and taking photos of the canines. 🙂
