On Friday, we celebrated Gunner’s adoption anniversary. It was a special, double-digit milestone as it marked ten years since Gunner had decided to make us a part of his pack, ten years of Gunner infusing our home with his sweet and sassy charm.

In preparation of his big day, I had ordered a new party-themed photography backdrop, cooked Gunner and Tucker’s favorite homemade, dog-friendly meal, and stocked up on the canines’ preferred treats.

And so Gunner’s “gotcha day” started off with a Tucker-and-Gunner-approved breakfast, followed by a bit of treat sampling, belly rubs, and napping.

Later, I set up our new backdrop, dressed up the dogs in colorful bandanas, and snapped a few (hundred) photos to make the occasion truly unforgettable. As you’ll see in the pictures, Tucker decided to take a mid-photo-session nap, and both canines showed off their treat-catching skills.

In the evening, we played hide-and-seek, which involved Tucker and Gunner’s absolutely favorite chicken jerky as a reward for finding me. And then we ended Gunner’s big day with some much-deserved and appreciated ear massages.
