Buster: Aspiring Singer and Day Seizer

The Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter has a brand-new lineup of four-leggers, and I had the pleasure of getting to know some of them last weekend during a fun-filled photo session.

They’re all adorable, with charming personalities and distinctive quirks that make it next to impossible to leave the shelter and not think about all that canine cuteness. But if I had to pick one dog to highlight, it would be the shelter’s Pet of the Week: the show-stopping, spotlight-stealing, and melodic-serenity-spreading Buster.

Who is this Buster? Let me tell you… but you better hold on tight to your chair because you’re about to be blown away by this anything-but-ordinary character. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Buster (4)

Let’s get the obvious out of the way: Buster is a looker. And he knows it. His whole appearance oozes confidence. When he walks from one side of the play yard to the other, he does it with purpose. He knows what he wants, and he goes for it—be it a yummy treat or a squeaky ball. And did I mention those floppy ears…

But what makes Buster stand out from the crowd is the attention-grabbing sound of his songs with which he entertains his fellow shelter residents from the comfort of his kennel. I’m convinced that he does his best to make his howls pleasing to the ear, but even if he doesn’t hit every note perfectly, it’s better than anything I could pull off. No joke here, just the cold, hard truth about my musical skills, or lack thereof.

Buster is, in fact, an aspiring singer, and he takes any chance he can get to practice and get comfortable in front of an audience: from kennel music sessions and play yard concerts to photo barn howls, Buster always has a lot to sing about. It’s his true passion, after all.

Experienced as he is, Buster knows how to handle the crowd and demand attention: Like a true pro, he’ll put his paws up on the bench and let his fans know that the show is about to start. His sassiness is endearing, really.

What else does this four-legger enjoy? Walks and cuddling, of course! When he’s not howling away, Buster loves to just sit down, relax, and cuddle or go for a stroll, take in some fresh air, and find joy in a sunny afternoon. Talk about seizing the day. Buster gets it right.

He’s currently looking for his forever home and is ready to charm his way into his new favorite person’s heart. If Buster sounds like your kind of canine companion, you can pay him a visit at the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter.

Also, don’t forget to take a look at some of Buster’s fellow shelter residents:
