One Animal Shelter, Two Good Boys, and Three Lovely Ladies

Curious what’s new with the shelter dogs? I was, too, so I stopped by their kennels last weekend to meet the newest residents and to deliver some exciting news to a very charming four-legger.

Charming Charlotte

First things first. Timid Charlotte, who was scared to come out of her kennel just a couple of weeks ago, has blossomed into a more outgoing version of herself. She is still a little unsure of herself, but when I visited her last Saturday, she walked over to the photo barn like it was just another day at the office. Seasoned pro in the making?

Once there, I revealed to her that she had been featured in both The Bark’s weekly Smiling Dogs email and the Weatherford Democrat’s Saturday edition. Modest as she is, she didn’t let her newfound fame get to her head and simply enjoyed some cuddles and treats before posing, with much more confidence than last time, for the camera. She believes bandanas are just her style. What do you think?

Lovely Lady

But charming Charlotte isn’t the only lovely lady at the shelter. There’s also, well, Lady. This sassy sweetheart opted not to wear any bandanas for our photo session. Understandable. Her brindle coat deserves all of the spotlight.

Lady is a bit of a tomboy and is ready to bring some fun into her new family’s everyday life. To give potential adopters a little taste of what that could look like, she posed for some silly photos and showed off her funny side. Check out her pictures below.

Happy Hope

Another gem of a dog is Hope. She is new to the shelter and is still settling into her temporary home, but she’s hopeful that she’ll find her forever family soon, especially once they see her model that scarf we found in the photo barn.

Happy Hope wants it to be known that she loves belly rubs and cuddles, and with her mesmerizing eyes, it’s hard not to give her the attention she asks for. Just look at that face! Irresistible.

Beautiful Bingo

Of course, I promised in the title that this post wasn’t going to be just about the ladies but also about two very good boys. One of them is Bingo. He’s silly, playful, and energetic, and he hopes his fun personality together with his good looks will score him the perfect two-legger.

He also wants to point out that his black-and-white coat is quite versatile and complements pretty much any outfit his new human may choose to wear. So, who’s up for a stroll in style with Bingo?

Dashing Darwin

Those ears! I wasn’t even planning on taking Darwin’s pictures last weekend, but then I saw him on a walk, showing off his attention-grabbing ears and facial expressions, and so I just had to get a few snapshots.

Is it just me or does Darwin look like he’s deep in thought? If so, what is he contemplating? Did he figure out one of the biggest mysteries in the dog world? Did he discover who’s a good boy?

If any of these four-leggers spark your interest, pay them a visit at the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter. They’re patiently waiting in their kennels for their forever families.
