Rango: From Longest Resident to Dog Celeb

Remember Rango aka Rango Tango, the aspiring dancer? He was featured in The Bark magazine’s weekly Smiling Dogs email on Friday, October 19.

Rango (15)

I had seen that the magazine had a Smiling Dogs photo contest and submitted pictures of a few of the Weatherford shelter’s former residents. Rango, with his silly, happy smile, was picked to be in the spotlight.

No surprise here. Rango, who came into the animal shelter on July 17, became the longest resident, and was finally adopted on September 4, was made for the showbiz. He’s got the looks, the charisma, and those attention-grabbing floppy ears. Not to mention his wowing dance moves.

At the shelter, Rango always auditioned to be a professional cuddler, but he was also an aspiring dancer, proudly displaying his ballet-like jumps while flirting with the camera. Now, all the work has paid off. Not only does he have his forever home, he is also a celebrity in the dog world. Well, sort of. In a very embellished kind of way.

If his adopter sees this, maybe she will tell sweet Rango about his fame that he doesn’t know about yet. It may bring another smile to his face.
