Tricks and Treats: Denver’s Halloween Photo Session

Denver is finally ready for Halloween!

Denver (14)

A few weeks ago, he was so shy that he missed out on trying on costumes with the other dogs at the shelter. But maybe all he needed was a little costume inspo for motivation to come out of his shell and get into the Howloween spirit. On Friends of Weatherford Shelter Pets, he got some great suggestions!

His costume options in the shelter’s photo barn were limited, but Denver found two easy-to-put-on, scary-good styles that he hopes will make him stand out to potential adopters and will maybe even help him win the Weatherford Whiskers Meowloween costume photo contest.

He was such a good sport about trying on costumes, sitting still and posing for the camera, that I also showed him a few regular style accessories. Denver was happy to put on a couple of bandanas and a hat. Surely, the variety in his portfolio will help attract his furever family.

Between outfit changes, Denver did seem quite disappointed about not having been adopted yet. Treats helped cheer him up a little temporarily, but he’d really like to celebrate Halloween in his new home, not his kennel.

If you want to help him find a fang-tastic home to call his own, you can share his collage on Facebook. Or if you’re interested in this pawsome dog yourself, just swing by the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter and pay him a visit.

Denver is not the only one who has found his Halloween style, however! Drama, who is actually no drama at all, Louis and Joshua also had some costume fun, and they’re all participating in the Meowloween photo contest, too!

Drama dressed up as a pumpkin, Louis channeled Buzz Lightyear, and Joshua teamed up with a pirate. Check out their boo-tiful pics below.

Joshua insisted on having a few costume-free photos taken to make his good looks the center of attention. Spotlight on dreamy Joshua:

  1. I love those photos of Denver! We have to get them into the comments on his collage. I especially like the 5th one of him in the photo in his automated photo collage. I’m also glad you got pics of Joshua. He’s such a sweet boy and even though he likes to play, he seems like he also would like to be a couch potato with his person 🙂
