Shelter Stars: The Must-Meet Crew
They’re cool. They’re confident. They’re charming. They handle close-ups like the pros, know how to flirt with the camera, and exude a celeb-like flair. The shelter stars got it all.
Last weekend, I had the chance to get to know the must-meet four-leggers over a quick photo session and some playtime in the yard. Turns out they’re pretty down-to-earth and not at all afraid to show their silly sides.
Drake
He knows how to strike all the right poses. Having his pictures taken seemed like just another day at the office for him. Still, the calm and well-mannered pro doesn’t take himself too seriously and even showed off a few tongue tricks.
Where does he see himself five months from now? Probably retired from modeling. His long-term goal is to find a home and become his new owner’s personal couch seat pre-warmer.

Oscar
Playful, energetic, and just too cool for staged photos, easygoing Oscar opted for action shots in the yard… and then tried to steal treats when I wasn’t looking. Sassy? Check. And because he couldn’t let Drake show him up, he, too, let the camera capture his tongue tricks. Silly? Check. Competitive? Check!
His plans for the future? Finding his furever companion. With his varied skill set – reaching from motivational barker to get you on that walk or run to conversation starter to help you meet your new neighbors – Oscar is a dog-of-all-trades.

Poly
Poly is still adjusting to her fame and was rather shy during her photo session. She preferred cuddles over snapshots, but once she got used to the shutter sound of the camera, she let loose and showed off her fun-loving personality with a touch of silliness.
Her dream is to be a professional cuddler, and she’s hoping to reach her career goal within the next few months.

Don
As the athlete of the crew, Don opted for action shots rather than pretty poses and costumes. He wanted to show off his energetic, sporty side. From bolting around the yard to chasing after and fetching tennis balls – Don knows how to bring fun into the weekend.
Where does he see himself five weeks from now? With his new owner, playing fetch.
